LIFE

I start my thoughts with a poem by William Shakespeare,

All the worlds a stage
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

What is life? A mere play of stages that we cross? Or is life the experiences we have when crossing the stages of life?

Defining Life in a word or a sentence is impossible.

Life takes us from the most simple and easy living to the most complicated and difficult living. When we are infants life is all about basic needs; food, shelter, safety and security. We are dependent on others for are needs. As we grow we become confident and secure, we learn to move, crawl, sit, stand, talk, walk and run. It is now that the comforts of being totally dependent decrease. We got to do our things on our own. The rat race for survival begins now

Its time for school, studies, exams and results. The fastest among the lot be ahead in the race and others follow. The life in school is all about learning, meeting new people having new experiences. As time passes, passes by our age. Soon it would be time for self exploration, time to make mistakes and learn in the process.

Comes the youth with full of zeal and enthusiasm. We experience a different feeling here. Its about the new found liking for things and people. Exploring and moving with the flow is what we do. This is the stage that passes by like wind. Its quick and fast. As it passes the real struggles of life begin.

Its the testing time now. The struggle for life begin. The basic needs that we had as infants are now to be looked after by our-self. The strength, confidence, learning, experience and enthusiasm is to be used here. Its the survival for the fittest. We need to fend for our-self for food, shelter, safety and security. We strive for the best for our-self and our loved ones. As we successfully move, comes the life for living righteously.

Our experiences and struggles taught us the ways of survival and now we need to live it right. Do good and be good. Think right and work right. Its all about enjoying the success achieved. Soon is the time to teach right and guide our loved ones.

With the life spent we gain knowledge of the correct path. We direct loved ones towards it. Share what we learnt. Give all the intangible store of wealth that is of experience to people around us. Doing this we reach a stage in life where everything becomes history.

It is we who become the heroes of the history of our eventful life. And everything else becomes past.

This is Life and the Living of Life.
